OATH

I think that the time has come for all those,
who while assuming office, should take Oath in
the name of transparency also and not in the name
of secrecy only.

जींदगी

मुस्कुराकर जीना जींदगी है,
मुस्कुराकर गम भुलाना जींदगी है,
जीतकर हसे तो क्या हसे,
सब कुछ हारकर मुस्कुराना ही जींदगी है......

A Difference

A difference that often makes all the defference.
The genious not merely 'wants'something but yearns to
give expression to a deep-feltneed for genious excellence,
that sets no limits for itself but "streaches its arms
towards perfection".
The entire concepet and message is summed up
laconically and powerfully by Edward Bulwer,"Genious
does what it must;talent does what it can."
And in this 'doing' of the genious, being 'resonable',
in its conventional sense,has no
place whatsoever!

CORRUPTION

Corruption is a national concern and India is ripe for
a complete revamp of how Politics is funded. It can no
longer be funded through corruption, as it today undeniably
is.The Govt.should take the lead to usher in complete
transparency on political fund mobilisation. This will certainly
improve both the Polity and the quality of Governance, yielding
manifold benefits, including a firm rebuff to all raising
this National issue.

Holi - the festival of colours

The festival of Holi is celebrated on the day after the full moon.
Originally a festival to celebrate good harvests and fertility of the land, Holi is now a symbolic commemmoration of a legend from Hindu Mythology. The story centres around an arrogant king who resents his son Prahlada worshipping Lord Vishnu. He attempts to kill his son but fails each time. Finally, the king's sister Holika who is said to be immune to burning, sits with the boy in a huge fire. However, the prince Prahlada emerges unscathed, while his aunt burns to death. Holi commemorates this event from mythology, and huge bonfires are burnt on the eve of Holi as its symbolic representation.
Today Holi is an excuse for Indians to shed inhibitions and caste differences for a day of spring fever and Big Fun. Teenagers spend the day flirting and misbehaving in the streets, adults extend the hand of peace, and everyone chases everyone else around, throwing brightly colored powder (gulal) and water over each other.
Let us wish everybody a Happy Holi. Let the colors of Holi fill your heart with warmth and love.

POLYGAMY

Polygamy still exits. But the way Mr.Ziona chana has a record of 39 wifes and 94 children is really unimaginable. But it's true Mr. Chana is 66 year's old man and lives in north east with 39 wife,94 children and 33 grand children in a four storied building with 100 rooms in a mountainous village in Mizoram, sharing borders with myanmar and Bangladesh.Once he married 10 women in one year.He believes in Polygamy and even today he is ready to expand his family and willing to go to any extent to marry.
Mr. Chana heads a local christian religious sect, called "Chana" which allows Polygamy.Formed in June 1942,tis sect believes that it will soon be ruling the world with the christ. It has membership of about 400 families.
This truth raises a big question. How this is so in 21st century. Is this not a wonder.

LOVE

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two."

GOOD BEGINNING

The way Peace process begins may not always determine how it will end.
But a good beginning can go a long way in creating the right and necessary conditions for the success of the initiative.

VALENTINE'S DAY

Valentine's Day celebration is a recent phenomenon in India but has caught the fancy of people to a great extent. Though some see it as a western import and hesitate to celebrate, there exist a large and growing number of those who love the feeling behind the beautiful and romantic festival. Especially to the Indian youth February 14 signifies love - a day when people express their affection for others. Just as several other countries, people in India too celebrate the Valentine's Day by exchanging cards and gifts

VALENTINE

Valentines Day Valentine's Day Beating Heart is February 14.
There are different ideas as to where or how the celebration of Sweethearts celebrating Valentine's Day Valentine's Day began.
The Roman's celebrated a festival called Lupercalia on February 15. This festival was held to ward off the danger of wolves to their flocks and honored their God Lupercalia. This is one idea. The Christian Church had two Saints named Valentine and two other ideas center around them. The Roman Emperor, Claudius the II forbade young men to marry in 200 A.D. He believed single men made better soldiers, free of family concerns. A priest named Valentine disobeyed the Emperor and married couples in secret. The next Saint Valentine was a lover of children but, was imprisoned when he would not honor other gods. The children missed him and wrote messages of affection to him. They threw their notes through the bars of his cell. This may have been the beginning of exchanging messages. He was executed on February 14, 269 A.D. Pope Gelasius in 496 A.D. named February 14th, Valentine's Day, after him. The fourth idea concerning the celebration of Valentine's Day is based on the belief that birds or fowl pick their mates on February 14th. It was believed love birds in particular, chose this day to begin mating.
The modern day celebration of Valentine's Day Woman With Valentine seems to have begun in France and England. On Valentines Eve young people would gather and pick names becoming a valentine to whose ever name they chose.

CORRUPTION

Corruption in India is endemic and taking A.Raja to task will be
of little utility unless this problem is addressed.
Political funding is the root of corruption in our country.
Political activity calls for financing. These finances are mobilised,
for the most part, through corruption and mobilisers loot the exchequer,
sell state patronage and use state power to extort money. All of which entails
corruption. This must come to an end. This is where the real effort must be
made.

FLIRTING

Flirting is fun, but only if you don't take it too seriously. Most of the time, you'll just flirt with someone for a short time and then maybe never talk to them again. If you always go in to flirting expecting to date or even marry the person you're flirting with, you're going to be very disappointed--and you'll probably seem a little desperate. Remember, you're just flirting.

GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS

Goals and aspirations that we conceive and nurture are a type of dream. A goal is the state of affairs that a plan is intended to achieve. An aspiration is an ambition, or a cherished desire.

Goals and aspirations are Inner World thoughts and feelings that give shape to what an individual wants and believes she needs in order to create a life that feels purposeful and meaningful. Often such dreams begin in the vague realm of daydreams, as a voice of our wants and yearnings. As daydreams become goals and aspirations, they attain a much more concrete shape. Rather than the fuzziness of a daydream, goals and aspirations are much more specific as to what the hoped-for reality might look like in the waking world, and what might be needed to make the yearnings real. Like a bluerprint or schematic, goals and aspirations guide the dreamer, giving structure to her thoughts and actions in the context of what she wants to achieve in the tangible, waking world

BEAUTY

Beauty is a valuable in our image-obsessed society.
A recent survey reveals that only 6% of women aged
18 to 64 were very satisfied with their looks. It means
94% of women are critical of their appearance. The
question is - how this gender becomes so obsessed with
their physical appearance. Why do women obsess about
their shapes? Are we hell-bent on perfection or smitten
with totally unrealistic ideas about beauty.
Will we ever change our concepts of beauty?

CORRUPTION

The Supreme Court's comment "Something is rotten" clearly speaks a lot about our judicial system.
Apart from large number of pending cases, there is clearly much that is wrong with our judicial system.
Non accountability and non transparent process of their appointment are most important.Once appointed, removal is almost impossible. The Govt. does not have constitutional competence to supervise.
No one is above law.Time has come to think over it before it goes alarming.
The Judicial Standards and accountability Bill introduced last month in the
Parliament can change much. The only solution is root and branch reform.
          Make Judiciary Accountable.
